Cathedral City, California
NEW CONSTRUCTION/ ADDITION TO AN EXISTING CAMPUS
This project consists of a new administration building and covered walk extensions between building’s 100 and 200, new visitor parking and bus drop-off, reconfiguration of the existing administration area into classrooms, modernization of existing science labs and classrooms, campus-wide electrical, fire alarm, and intercom systems upgrades.
Having outgrown the existing Administration area, the new administration building and modernization for the Middle School was designed to create a definitive entrance to the campus, as well as unite each of the existing buildings with an aesthetic solution that evokes the schools colors.
The exterior finishes of the campus’ existing buildings had been deteriorating and thus were re-finished as part of the modernization. Playful brick patterns were utilized to visually unite the entire campus through the use of school colors. In addition, earthly tones link the campus with the surrounding desert context.
Project Cost: $7,400,000
