Project Location: Thousand Oaks, California
Client: Conejo Valley Unified School District
Completion Date: 1998

By teaming with an active community, our design did more than just address their concerns for a state-of-the-art school. It also provided an aesthetically pleasing and flexible facility. Grading the 7.5-acre, sloping site into two tiers solved space constraints and provided additional safety and security. More than 50,000 SF of facilities were placed on the upper tier, overlooking play fields on the lower, and facilitated easy partitioning and supervision. In the spirit of true teamwork, administrators, designers, and contractors completed fast-track construction in just 10 months, even during 1997 El Niņo storms. Lang Ranch's design and process won a 2000 Coalition for Adequate School Housing (CASH) Award of Merit.

"A good designer and good contractor with a shared vision and active partnering made this project a success."
