Since 1996, Lancaster School District has embarked on a $15M modernization program to upgrade the infrastructure of the District’s seven (7) schools which are eligible for modernization through the State funding program. Flewelling & Moody is the Architect of Record at all seven schools for planning and construction. The scope of work is similar across all sites, and includes the following:
  • New electrical service and distribution
  • New building insulation
  • Modernization of toilets to meet requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Interior painting, flooring & finishes
  • ADA compliance upgrades for path of travel and equal access
  • Window replacement (in some sites)
  • Administrative area reconfiguration
  • Technology infrastructure installation that incorporated the following:
    • New backbone for data and computer connectivity throughout entire campus
    • New security system
    • New telecommunications system
    • New fire alarm system
    • New master clock system
  • New Cabinets in the classrooms
  • Plumbing infrastructure upgrades (some sites)
  • Site improvements to playgrounds and some parking areas




The modernization program at these schools included both cosmetic and infrastructure upgrades—creating a more efficient and pleasant environment.
