Wiseburn School District is one of the oldest school districts in the South Bay, with three elementary schools, and one middle school that serve nearly 1,600 students. The District is proactive in its public communications program hosting a web site, and producing newsletters and other mailers for parents and local residents. The newsletter program has been the foundation of Wiseburn's public relations for many years; however, with limited resources, producing quarterly newsletters on a timely, consistent basis was becoming more and more difficult. Flewelling & Moody has been providing architectural services to the District for more than 50 years, and in the summer of 2001 we took our partnership one step further. Our public relations department began working with Wiseburn to enhance their newsletter program, by assuming the time-consuming tasks that each issue demands. We attend District events to follow stories and take photographs, perform background research, write, design, layout, and manage the production and distribution of the newsletter. The end result is a consistent, professional publication that doesn't add to the demands of Wiseburn's already busy staff. The newsletter program has been so successful that Flewelling & Moody has gone on to design and produce the District's annual SARC reports, as well as additional special communication pieces.
